Silvia Monica Gutierrez

Ms. Gutierrez has worked in the social service field for over fifteen years in a variety of capacities. Her experience includes working with victims of domestic violence, burn survivors and within the homeless community; she has worked with homeless single men, women and families.

As the Area Director for PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) she oversaw the Regional Homeless Center of Los Angeles that included the PATH Mall. As Associate Director of Good Shepherd Center, Ms. Gutierrez supervised all of the programs, which included one emergency shelter, an outreach program, two transitional programs, the development department and a culinary arts program.

Previously she worked as the Executive Director of The Immaculate Heart Community where she managed a $5.2 million budget and a regional staff of 80. Her strength lies in managing programs and developing systems that work collaboratively to achieve outcomes.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Union Institute and University and Master’s in Executive Leadership from the University of Southern California.

 

Chris Najarro

Ms. Najarro is an experienced social service professional with a background in the field that dates back to over fifteen years. She has been working to serve the homeless community of Santa Clarita Valley since 2011 when she accepted the director role of Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley.

Chris started her career in Social Services as a CalWORKS Case Worker at Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) in Chatsworth, California. She was promoted to her first leadership position in 2004, and ended her 11-year career with CCRC as CalWORKS Department Coordinator, managing the Department and supervising over 30 employees. Chris is a bilingual social services professional; a graduate of California State University, Northridge, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Welfare and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California.

 


Olga Ruiz

Olga L. Ruiz has been working in the social services field for over twenty years. She began her journey working for Los Angeles County DPSS (Department of Public Social Services), and after eight years joined the non-profit sector as a Foster Care Social Worker. Shortly thereafter, she joined the United States Army National Guard, and simultaneously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management.

In 2008, Olga became an Administrator of a Group Home for at-risk youth, while supervising Social Workers at a Foster Family Agency in South Central Los Angeles.

Olga as the Healthy Lives Case Manager leads the work that is facilitated by professional volunteer dentists and nurses in our medical and dental clinics. She also provides case management support to people exiting the hospital systems experiencing homelessness and supports our prevention programs that help people stay housed in the City of Santa Clarita.

Olga transitioned into her role as Shelter Manager on October 2017.
